Traffic & Value

These metrics estimate how much organic and paid search traffic a website receives and what that traffic is worth in dollar terms.

Organic Traffic

What is it?

The estimated number of monthly visitors a website receives from organic (non-paid) search results. It's calculated by combining keyword rankings, search volumes, and estimated click-through rates.

Why it matters

Organic traffic is the primary goal of SEO. Unlike paid traffic, it doesn't cost per click and tends to be more sustainable over time. A growing organic traffic trend indicates successful SEO efforts.

These are estimates

Organic traffic numbers are estimates based on keyword data and statistical models. They may differ from actual traffic (which you can see in Google Analytics), but they're useful for competitive analysis and trend tracking.

Traffic Value

What is it?

The estimated monthly cost (in USD) of purchasing the same organic traffic through Google Ads. It's calculated by multiplying each keyword's estimated organic clicks by its CPC.

Why it matters

Traffic value helps you understand the economic worth of your organic rankings. A site with 10,000 monthly organic visitors and a traffic value of $50,000 is effectively saving $50K/month in advertising costs. This metric is also useful for:

  • Justifying SEO investment — Compare SEO costs to the equivalent ad spend.
  • Competitive analysis — See how much competitors would need to pay for their traffic.
  • Content prioritization — Focus on keywords with high traffic value.

Paid Traffic

What is it?

The estimated monthly visitors a website receives from paid search ads (Google Ads). This is separate from organic traffic and indicates the site's paid search activity.

Why it matters

Seeing a competitor's paid traffic helps you understand their marketing strategy. If they're spending heavily on ads for certain keywords, those keywords likely have high commercial value — and may be worth targeting organically.

Paid Cost

The estimated monthly spend on Google Ads. Combined with paid traffic, this tells you how much a site is investing in paid search and what their average CPC is.

Traffic by Country

What is it?

A breakdown of organic traffic, keywords, and traffic value segmented by country. This shows where a website's search visibility is strongest geographically.

How to interpret

  • Target market alignment — Check if your traffic comes from countries you actually serve.
  • Expansion opportunities — Identify countries where competitors get traffic but you don't.
  • Localization needs — If you rank well in non-English countries, consider translating content.

How to Improve Traffic & Value

  • 1.Increase keyword rankings — Move from page 2 to page 1 for the biggest traffic gains.
  • 2.Target high-CPC keywords — These increase your traffic value even with modest search volumes.
  • 3.Expand to new keywords — Create content targeting keyword gaps in your niche.
  • 4.Improve click-through rates — Optimize title tags and meta descriptions to earn more clicks at the same position.
